1. Ensures that quality of care provided by staff meets standards by direct observation and individual instruction. Provides direct feedback to staff, including development of improvement plans.
2. Supervises the daily operations of the department and personnel. Assigns and oversees work assignments.
3. Coordinates and provides instruction of staff, students, nurse, and medical residents in respiratory care theory and practice. Develops in-service programs in conjunction with the administrative director.
4. Participates in leadership meetings with the administrative and medical directors. Leads small group meetings and inter-shift report. Assists in conflict resolution between staff and disciplines.
5. Acts as a consultant for staff RCPs, RNs, and MDs regarding patient assessment and care plan development.
6. Participates in the development of post hospitalization discharge planning for patients with high-level respiratory care needs.
7. Utilizes competency in all specific areas of practice including adults, pediatrics, and neonatal respiratory care.
8. Evaluates and discusses new products and equipment with staff and sales representatives. Arranges for equipment in-services.
9. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field.
10. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

• 5 years of experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree and supervisory experience preferred.

- Licensed Respiratory Care Practioner in NH.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) upon hire.
- (ACLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire.
- (PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support upon hire.

In addition to performing all duties associated with an adult RCP, the Pediatric Specialist RCP must maintain competencies, training, and knowledge directly associated with pediatric and neonatal critical care. The PEDI-RCP will provide care in all CHAD areas including but not limited to: Intensive Care Nursery, Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Specialty Care, Birthing Pavilion, and Emergency Department.

1. Performs all responsibilities as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
2. Assists in High risk deliveries.
3. Responds to OB Emergencies.
4. Responds to Pediatric and Neonatal Code Blue, Pediatric Stat Airway Activations, and Pediatric Rapid Response Activations.
5. Competent in the management of Mechanical Ventilation in Neonatal and small pediatric patient populations.
6. Competent in the application and management of High Frequency Oscillator and the Jet ventilator.
7. Maintains competency in the administration of surfactant to preterm infants.
8. Competent in administration of nitrous oxide to pediatric patients for painful procedures.
9. Completes NOEP during ICN orientation.
10. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist via the NBRC
• Minimum of 2 years working in adult critical care or previous neonatal/pediatric critical care experience
