Respiratory therapists at Dartmouth Health provide the following services:
· 60 adult critical care beds (MICU, SICU & Cardiac ICU)
· Pediatric ICU
· Level 3 neonatal ICU
· RT / RN air and ground neonatal transport team
· Adult ECMO specialists are staffed by respiratory therapists
· Emergency response teams (Trauma, Code, Airway, rapid response)

Overview: $7,500.00 sign on bonus. Nights. 3, 12 hour shifts. Additional Administrative hours to make it a 40 hour work week. Develops, updates, and implements various policies and procedures related to the practice of respiratory care. Plans and executes special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that quality of care provided by staff meets standards by direct observation and individual instruction. Provides direct feedback to staff, including development of improvement plans.
- Supervises the daily operations of the department and personnel. Assigns and oversees work assignments.
- Coordinates and provides instruction of staff, students, nurse, and medical residents in respiratory care theory and practice. Develops in-service programs in conjunction with the administrative director.
- Participates in leadership meetings with the administrative and medical directors. Leads small group meetings and inter-shift report. Assists in conflict resolution between staff and disciplines.
- Acts as a consultant for staff RCPs, RNs, and MDs regarding patient assessment and care plan development.
- Participates in the development of post hospitalization discharge planning for patients with high-level respiratory care needs.
- Utilizes competency in all specific areas of practice including adults, pediatrics, and neonatal respiratory care.
- Evaluates and discusses new products and equipment with staff and sales representatives. Arranges for equipment in-services.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the field.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications: 5 years of experience required. Bachelor’s degree and supervisory experience preferred.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Respiratory Care Practitioner NH OR Temp RCP NH - BLS and ACLS within 180 days
